...the time a good wholemeal dough needs to bake gently in peace. Our pumpernickel stays in the oven for a full 21 hours. Only then does the characteristic malt sweetness - and the unmistakable dark colour - of this original Westphalian speciality begin to show. After baking, our pumpernickel and wholemeal bread is cut into slices and packaged hygienically. All WEPU bread is pasteurised in the packaging according to our quality handbook and consequently lasts for up to a whole year, without preservatives of course. Without a doubt, our team-oriented working atmosphere which fosters creativity and the heavy individual responsibility of our employees have just as great a share in the high quality our company stands for as do our business partners, some of whom we have been working loyally with for decades.
